ExoMars program
The ExoMars program is a joint European and Russian initiative to explore Mars, focusing on understanding its environment and searching for signs of past life. It includes the Trace Gas Orbiter, launched in 2016, which studies Mars’ atmosphere for gases indicating activity, and the Rosalind Franklin rover, launched in 2022, designed to drill into the ground to analyze the soil for signs of microbial life. The program aims to enhance our knowledge of Mars’ habitability and prepare for future human exploration by providing detailed surface and atmospheric data.
