Exceptionalism Theory

Exceptionalism Theory suggests that certain countries, particularly the United States, believe they are fundamentally different from and better than others. This sense of uniqueness can be based on history, culture, or values, leading these nations to see themselves as having a special role or moral obligation to lead or shape global affairs. It influences their foreign policies and decisions, often resulting in a willingness to act unilaterally or to prioritize their interests and ideals on the world stage. Essentially, it’s the idea that some nations see themselves as “exceptional” and hold a unique position in global leadership.
