Examinership

Examinership is a legal process in Ireland that provides struggling companies with a temporary protection period, typically up to 100 days, to reorganize and avoid insolvency. During this time, an appointed examiner reviews the company's financial situation, works with creditors, and proposes a plan to turnaround the business. The goal is to give the company a chance to stabilize and continue trading, preserving jobs and value. It's a structured formal process designed to balance the interests of creditors and the company's future viability, often leading to debt restructuring rather than winding up the business entirely.
