Evil and Omnipotence
The Problem of Evil questions how an all-powerful, all-knowing, and all-good deity can coexist with the existence of evil and suffering in the world. If God is omnipotent, He could prevent evil; if He is omniscient, He knows it’s happening; and if He is perfectly good, He would want to stop it. This creates a philosophical dilemma: How can we reconcile faith in such a God with the reality of pain and injustice? Various explanations, like free will or the idea that suffering serves a greater purpose, attempt to address this contradiction, but the debate remains complex and ongoing.
