Eutyches

Eutyches was a Christian monk in the 5th century who believed that Jesus Christ's divine nature totally absorbed his human nature, meaning Christ was either divine alone or a blend but without a distinct human nature. His teachings caused controversy because they challenged the idea that Jesus was fully both divine and human, which is central to Christian doctrine. The church debated this issue, leading to the Ecumenical Council of Chalcedon in 451 AD, which clarified that Jesus is one person with both fully divine and fully human natures, existing together without confusion or separation.
