Euskal Herria (Basque Homeland)

Euskal Herria, or the Basque Homeland, refers to the culturally and historically connected regions inhabited by the Basque people, primarily spanning parts of northern Spain and southwestern France. It includes the Basque Country and Navarre in Spain, and parts of the Basque-speaking areas in France. The Basques have a distinct language (Euskara), unique traditions, and a strong regional identity. While some Basque people advocate for greater autonomy or independence, Euskal Herria is recognized as a historical and cultural landscape rather than a sovereign state, emphasizing shared heritage and collective identity across political borders.
