Eurystheus

Eurystheus was a king in Greek mythology, known primarily for commissioning Hercules (Heracles) to complete twelve challenging labors. He was ambitious and often insecure, which influenced his actions—sometimes hiding in a jar or acting out of fear when Hercules succeeded. Eurystheus's role was to assign the tasks that Hercules had to accomplish, acting as a sort of demanding supervisor. His interactions highlight themes of authority, fear, and the hero’s perseverance.
