European Works Council

A European Works Council (EWC) is a body representing employees in multinational companies operating in Europe. It aims to ensure that workers have a voice in the company's decision-making processes, especially regarding substantial changes that affect their jobs, such as restructuring or relocations. Established by the European Union, EWCs bring together employee representatives from different countries, facilitating communication and collaboration across borders. This framework promotes dialogue between management and employees, fostering a shared understanding of business challenges and strategies while enhancing workers’ rights and participation in transnational labor relations.
