European Work Councils

European Works Councils (EWCs) are bodies that facilitate communication and cooperation between management and employee representatives across subsidiaries of multinational companies operating in different European countries. They aim to promote transparency, dialogue, and participation on issues affecting employees, such as restructuring, working conditions, and overall company strategy. EWCs are established under European Union legislation to ensure workers’ rights to be informed and consulted about significant company decisions, fostering better understanding and collaboration across borders without infringing on national employment laws.
