European Union (EU) Schengen Area

The Schengen Area is a group of European countries that have abolished passport and border controls between them, allowing people to move freely across their borders. Established to promote ease of travel, it includes most EU nations and a few non-EU countries. Travelers can enter one Schengen country and typically travel to others without additional border checks. However, security measures are maintained at the external borders of the Schengen Area. This agreement enhances cooperation among member states, fostering economic ties and cultural exchange while balancing the need for security and control.
