European System of Central Banks (ESCB)

The European System of Central Banks (ESCB) comprises the European Central Bank (ECB) and the national central banks of EU member states. Its primary goal is to maintain price stability across the Eurozone, which helps ensure a stable economy and protects the purchasing power of the euro. The ESCB manages monetary policy, oversees the banking system, and works to uphold financial stability. While all EU countries participate in the ESCB, only those that use the euro are part of the Eurosystem, which implements policy decisions made by the ECB.
