European Recovery Program

The European Recovery Program, also known as the Marshall Plan, was an initiative launched by the United States in 1948 to aid European countries in rebuilding after World War II. The U.S. provided financial assistance and supplies to help restore economies, infrastructure, and industries. The goal was to prevent the spread of communism by stabilizing these nations and promoting political stability through economic recovery. The plan significantly contributed to Europe’s rapid revival, fostering cooperation among nations and setting the foundation for future European integration. It lasted until 1952 and is regarded as a key factor in the continent’s post-war recovery.
