European Payments Initiative (EPI)

The European Payments Initiative (EPI) is a collaborative effort by major European banks and financial institutions to develop a unified payment system for the region. Its goal is to create a seamless, secure, and efficient way for consumers and businesses to make digital payments across Europe, using a common platform and card scheme. By doing so, EPI aims to reduce dependence on non-European payment providers, improve transaction security, and promote financial sovereignty within the EU, making cross-border payments simpler and more consistent.
