European Human Rights Convention

The European Human Rights Convention is an international treaty that protects fundamental rights and freedoms of individuals across Europe, such as the right to life, fair trial, privacy, and freedom of expression. Countries that are part of the Council of Europe agree to uphold these rights and establish the European Court of Human Rights to hear cases when someone believes their rights have been violated. The Convention helps ensure that governments respect basic human dignity and provides a legal mechanism for individuals to seek justice when their rights are threatened or denied.
