European Constitution

The European Constitution was a proposed legal framework aimed at streamlining and consolidating the rules that govern the European Union (EU). It intended to simplify decision-making, clarify EU institutions' roles, and strengthen the union's overall transparency and unity. However, it faced significant opposition and was not ratified, resulting in its rejection in member countries. Instead, many of its ideas were incorporated into the Treaty of Lisbon (2007), which continues to shape how the EU functions today, balancing national sovereignty with the need for coordinated action among member states.
