European Committee of Social Rights
The European Committee of Social Rights (ECSR) is a body that monitors how well European countries follow social rights agreements, such as workers’ rights, social security, and housing standards. It reviews reports submitted by countries and assesses whether they are meeting their commitments under the European Social Charter. Although it does not have the power to enforce decisions, it issues decisions and recommendations to promote better social conditions across member states. Essentially, the ECSR helps ensure countries uphold fair social policies and improve the quality of life for their citizens.
