Euronymous was the stage name of Øystein Aarseth, a Norwegian musician and a founding member of the black metal band Mayhem. He played guitar and was influential in shaping the Norwegian black metal scene during the early 1990s. Euronymous was known for his dark, intense music style and his role in promoting the genre's themes of anti-religion and rebellion. He also owned a record store and a record label that supported black metal artists. His controversial personality and tragic death in 1993 significantly impacted the black metal community and its history.
