Euratom Treaty
The Euratom Treaty, established in 1957 alongside the Treaty of Rome, created the European Atomic Energy Community (Euratom). Its purpose is to coordinate and promote peaceful use of nuclear energy, ensure safety standards, and prevent the proliferation of nuclear weapons among member states. Essentially, it provides a framework for cooperation in nuclear research, technology, and safety across Europe, aiming to harness nuclear power responsibly and securely for peaceful purposes.
