Eurasian Tree Sparrow
The Eurasian Tree Sparrow (Passer montanus) is a small bird native to Europe and Asia, easily identified by its chestnut brown crown, black cheek spot, and white cheeks. It typically measures around 12-13 centimeters long and has a stout beak suited for seed-eating. Often found in urban areas, farmland, and woodlands, it prefers nesting in tree cavities, ledges, or buildings. The species is social, forming flocks outside the breeding season, and its diet mainly includes seeds and grains. Despite some habitat loss, it remains widespread and adaptable to human-altered environments.
