EUR (Esposizione Universale Romana)
EUR, or Esposizione Universale Romana, is a large exhibition and urban development project in Rome, initiated in the 1930s to showcase Italy’s modernity and strength. Originally planned as a world fair to celebrate 20 centuries of Roman civilization, it was later transformed into a residential and business district. The area features impressive neoclassical architecture, wide avenues, and government buildings. While the 1942 Expo was never completed due to World War II, EUR today is a thriving part of Rome, blending historical ambition with contemporary use, distinguished by its monumental design and significant role in Italian urban history.
