Leonhard Euler was an influential Swiss mathematician and physicist from the 18th century, known for his groundbreaking contributions across various fields of mathematics, including calculus, graph theory, and number theory. He introduced important concepts such as the Euler number (e), Euler's formula relating complex exponentials to trigonometric functions, and the Euler-Lagrange equation in calculus of variations.
