Eukaryotic Transcription

Eukaryotic transcription is the process by which cells make RNA copies of specific DNA segments to produce proteins. Inside the nucleus, enzymes called RNA polymerases read the DNA sequence and assemble a complementary strand of messenger RNA (mRNA). This mRNA then carries the genetic instructions from the DNA to the cell’s protein-making machinery in the cytoplasm. Transcription involves various regulatory proteins and molecular signals that control when and how genes are expressed, ensuring that cells produce the right proteins at the right times for proper function and response to their environment.
