Eubalaena glacialis

Eubalaena glacialis, commonly known as the North Atlantic right whale, is a large, marine mammal found along the eastern coast of North America. They can grow up to 50 feet long and weigh as much as 70 tons. These whales are characterized by their stocky bodies, a head with callosities (rough patches), and no dorsal fin. They primarily feed on drifting plankton and are known for slow movements. The North Atlantic right whale is critically endangered, with fewer than 400 individuals remaining, mainly due to ship strikes, entanglement in fishing gear, and habitat loss.
