EU (Expanded Universe)

The Expanded Universe (EU), now called "Legends," refers to stories, characters, and events in the Star Wars franchise outside of the official movies and TV shows. It includes books, comics, games, and other media that expand the universe’s lore and history. Initially part of the official canon, Disney reclassified the EU as Legends in 2014, meaning these stories are no longer considered part of the official timeline. The EU allowed fans to explore rich, detailed backgrounds for characters and worlds beyond the films, fostering a broader understanding and appreciation of the franchise’s universe.
