Etruscan calendar
The Etruscan calendar was a complex lunar-solar system used by the ancient Etruscans, combining lunar months with solar years. Typically, it consisted of 12 months, each aligned with lunar cycles, but occasionally included intercalary months to synchronize with the solar year. The calendar helped determine agricultural activities, religious festivals, and civic events. Its structure and month names have influenced Roman and later Western calendars, though much of it remains partially reconstructed due to limited surviving records. Overall, it reflects the Etruscans' sophisticated understanding of astronomy and timekeeping.
