Estevanico

Estevanico, also known as Esteban or Stephen the Black, was a Moroccan-born explorer and soldier who lived in the early 16th century. He is best known for being one of the first Africans to travel across North America as part of Spanish expeditions. Estevanico played a key role in guiding early explorers through what is now the southwestern United States, helping them locate valuable resources and indigenous settlements. His expertise and navigation skills made him a significant figure in the exploration of North America, although his life ended tragically during a Native American attack in 1539.
