Established Church
An Established Church is a Christian church officially recognized and supported by a government or state. This means the church often has a formal relationship with the state, sometimes receiving funding and playing a role in public life and ceremonies, like national events. While members may have freedom of religion, the Church’s doctrines and leadership are intertwined with government institutions. Examples include the Church of England in England and the Church of Scotland in Scotland. Established Churches often influence cultural traditions and laws but may also face debates about religious equality and separation of church and state.
