Erdene Zuu Monastery

Erdene Zuu Monastery, located in Mongolia, is one of the country's oldest and most significant Buddhist monasteries, established in the late 16th century. It served as a spiritual and cultural center, housing monks and religious artifacts, and symbolized Mongolia’s deep Buddhist heritage. Surrounded by a stone wall, the monastery complex includes temples, stupas, and centuries-old structures. Although it faced destruction during political upheavals in the 20th century, it was restored and remains an important site for religious practice, cultural preservation, and tourism. Today, Erdene Zuu stands as a testament to Mongolia’s religious history and resilience.
