Equity (Actors' Equity Association)

Equity, formally known as the Actors' Equity Association, is a labor union representing professional theater performers and stage managers in the United States. It advocates for fair wages, safe working conditions, and reasonable hours. The union negotiates contracts with theaters to ensure performers are treated equitably, protected from exploitation, and properly compensated for their work. Being a member provides actors with collective bargaining power, professional standards, and support, helping maintain the quality and integrity of live theater productions.
