Equilibration is the process by which our understanding or internal framework adjusts to new information or experiences. When we encounter something unfamiliar, we either modify our current ideas (assimilation) or change our understanding to fit the new data (accommodation). Over time, these adjustments help our mental structures become more accurate and balanced, leading to a better grasp of the world.
