Equality and social equity

Equality means everyone is given the same resources or opportunities, regardless of their background. Social equity recognizes that people have different needs and circumstances, so it aims to provide tailored support to ensure fair outcomes for all. While equality treats everyone the same, social equity seeks to address historical and social disadvantages to create a level playing field, enabling everyone to succeed. Both concepts are about fairness, but equity acknowledges that fairness sometimes requires different approaches to achieve true justice.
