Epstein's Framework

Epstein’s Framework examines how individuals develop their sense of moral reasoning and decision-making through three interconnected levels: the moral, personal, and social. The moral level involves understanding and applying societal rules and principles; the personal level reflects internal values and integrity; and the social level considers the influence of social relationships and contexts. These levels interact dynamically, shaping how people evaluate ethical dilemmas and behave. Epstein’s model highlights that moral development is a layered process, influenced by internal convictions and external societal factors, leading to a nuanced understanding of human ethical behavior.
