Epithelioid Mesothelioma

Epithelioid mesothelioma is a type of cancer that primarily affects the lining of the lungs, abdomen, or heart, often caused by asbestos exposure. It originates from epithelial cells, which are the cells lining these cavities, and tends to grow more slowly and respond better to treatment than other mesothelioma types. Symptoms may include breathing difficulties, chest pain, or abdominal swelling. While it remains a serious disease, early diagnosis and treatment can improve outcomes. Epithelioid mesothelioma accounts for the majority of mesothelioma cases, emphasizing the importance of prevention and medical evaluation if exposure to asbestos has occurred.
