Epistemological solipsism
Epistemological solipsism is the philosophical idea that only one's own mind is sure to exist. In the context of Rationalism, which emphasizes reason as the primary source of knowledge, this concept suggests that while we can doubt the existence of the external world and other minds, our own thoughts and perceptions are undeniable. Essentially, it questions how we can know anything beyond our own consciousness, paralleling Rationalism’s focus on internal reasoning as the foundation of knowledge. Thus, it raises challenges about the certainty of knowledge concerning anything outside of oneself.
