Epistemic Justice
Epistemic justice is about fairness in how people's knowledge, experiences, and perspectives are valued and recognized. It ensures that individuals are not unfairly dismissed or dismissed because of their social identity, such as gender, race, or background. There are two key aspects: epistemic credit, which involves giving proper recognition to people's contributions, and testimonial justice, which means listening carefully and valuing what others say, especially when their identity might make them vulnerable to bias. Overall, it promotes a more equitable exchange of knowledge, respecting everyone’s capacity to contribute meaningfully.
