EPI
EPI, or Energy Performance Index, is a measure used to evaluate how efficiently a building uses energy for its operations. It typically expresses energy consumption per unit of area or volume, such as kilowatt-hours per square meter annually. By analyzing the EPI, building managers and designers can identify opportunities to improve energy efficiency, reduce costs, and lessen environmental impact. Essentially, it provides a standardized way to compare and track energy performance over time or between different buildings. A lower EPI indicates better energy efficiency, meaning less energy is required to operate the building effectively.
