EOR (Enhanced Oil Recovery)

Enhanced Oil Recovery (EOR) refers to techniques used to extract additional oil from a reservoir after primary and secondary methods have been exhausted. It involves the injection of substances such as steam, chemicals, gases, or CO₂ into the underground reservoir to change the properties of the remaining oil, making it easier to flow to the production wells. EOR aims to maximize the amount of oil recovered efficiently and economically, extending the life of oil fields and increasing the total extraction beyond initial methods. It’s a critical part of optimizing the ultimate recovery from existing oil reserves.
