Enzyme models

Enzyme models are simplified representations used to understand how enzymes, which are biological catalysts, work. These models depict enzymes and their interactions with molecules (substrates) to explain processes like how enzymes lower activation energy and facilitate reactions. Common models include the lock and key model, where the enzyme's active site precisely fits the substrate, and the induced fit model, where the enzyme changes shape to better accommodate the substrate. These models help scientists visualize enzyme function and design drugs or treatments that can influence enzyme activity.
