Entisols

Entisols are a type of soil characterized by very little development or profile formation, meaning they have no significant layers or horizons beyond the original material. They are often found in areas with recent sediment deposition, such as riverbanks, deserts, or floodplains. Because they lack mature soil features, Entisols can vary widely in fertility and properties. They are important for agriculture in some regions, especially when amended or naturally fertile, but may require management to support plant growth due to their often limited nutrient and water-holding capacities.
