enteroscopy
Enteroscopy is a medical procedure used to examine the small intestine, which is difficult to reach with standard endoscopes. It involves specialized flexible tubes equipped with cameras and instruments that can navigate the twists and turns of the small bowel. This allows doctors to diagnose and treat conditions like bleeding, inflammation, or tumors directly within the small intestine. Enteroscopy can be performed through the mouth (push enteroscopy) or the anus (capsule endoscopy or balloon-assisted enteroscopy), providing valuable insights into parts of the digestive system that are otherwise hard to access.
