Enterobiasis

Enterobiasis is a common infection caused by tiny intestinal worms called pinworms. These worms primarily affect children but can spread to anyone. The female worms lay eggs around the anus, often leading to itching, especially at night. This itching can cause discomfort and may lead to scratching, which spreads the eggs to fingers, clothing, or bedding, continuing the cycle. The infection is usually diagnosed by finding eggs or worms through a simple tape test. It’s easily treated with medication, and good hygiene practices, like washing hands and cleaning bedding, help prevent reinfection.
