Entailment

Entailment is a logical relationship where, if one statement is true, it guarantees that another statement must also be true. For example, if the first statement says, “All dogs are animals,” and the second says, “Fido is a dog,” then the first statement entails the second, because knowing the first is true makes the second necessarily true. Essentially, entailment shows that the truth of one statement strongly supports or confirms the truth of another, based on logical connection.
