Enmebaragesi
Enmebaragesi was an ancient Sumerian king from around 2500 BCE, considered one of the earliest known rulers in history. He governed the city of Kish in southern Mesopotamia (modern-day Iraq). His name appears in early Sumerian inscriptions, making him one of the earliest historical figures documented through records. Enmebaragesi is notable for his role in establishing early city-state leadership and is sometimes associated with the legendary king Gilgamesh. His existence helps scholars understand the development of complex societies in ancient Mesopotamia and the early history of civilization.
