English Bar
An English Bar is a type of legal jurisdiction in the United Kingdom, particularly in England and Wales. It refers to the professional association of qualified barristers—lawyers who specialize in advocacy, courtroom representation, and complex legal advice. The term is also used to describe the physical and symbolic space of the barristers' profession, often involving their chambers and the Inns of Court. Becoming a member of the English Bar typically involves completing specific education and training requirements, including reading law and passing professional examinations, culminating in a qualification called called “called to the Bar,” which grants the legal authority to practice as a barrister.
