ENERGY STAR Version 1.0

ENERGY STAR Version 1.0, introduced in 1992, is a certification program by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency that identifies products, homes, and buildings that meet strict energy efficiency standards. Its goal is to reduce energy consumption, lower utility costs, and minimize environmental impact. Products bearing the ENERGY STAR label are tested and verified to be more energy-efficient than standard alternatives, helping consumers make environmentally conscious choices without sacrificing performance. This program has since expanded globally and evolved with newer versions, but Version 1.0 marked the beginning of a widely recognized effort to promote energy-saving practices.
