Energy Recovery Ventilators (ERV)
An Energy Recovery Ventilator (ERV) is a ventilation system that improves indoor air quality while conserving energy. It works by exchanging stale indoor air with fresh outdoor air, capturing the energy (heat and humidity) from the outgoing air to precondition the incoming air. This process helps maintain comfortable indoor temperatures and humidity levels efficiently, reducing the load on heating and cooling systems. ERVs are particularly beneficial in tightly sealed buildings, providing fresh air without significant energy loss, thereby enhancing indoor comfort and air quality while supporting energy efficiency.
