Endsley Model
The Endsley Model describes how pilots or operators maintain awareness of their environment and make decisions. It involves three levels: first, perceiving important data (like aircraft position or weather); second, understanding what that data means; and third, projecting future situations (like potential conflicts or hazards). Maintaining good Situational Awareness helps prevent errors and ensures safe, effective actions. The model highlights that awareness depends on having accurate information, understanding it correctly, and anticipating future developments.
