endovascular repair

Endovascular repair is a minimally invasive surgical procedure used to fix problems in blood vessels, such as aneurysms or tears. Instead of opening the body through large incisions, a surgeon inserts a thin tube called a catheter through a small cut, usually in the groin. Using imaging guidance, they guide this catheter to the affected vessel and deploy a specialized graft or stent. This creates a new pathway for blood flow, reinforcing the vessel wall and preventing rupture or further damage. The procedure typically results in shorter recovery times and less overall trauma compared to traditional open surgery.
