Endovascular embolization

Endovascular embolization is a minimally invasive medical procedure used to treat abnormal blood vessels or bleeding. A doctor inserts a thin tube called a catheter through a small opening in the skin, guiding it to the affected blood vessels using imaging technology. Once in place, tiny materials such as coils or particles are released through the catheter to block blood flow to the problematic area. This helps reduce bleeding, shrink abnormal growths, or prevent vessel rupture. The procedure typically results in less pain, shorter recovery time, and fewer complications compared to open surgery.
