Endovascular Aneurysm Repair

Endovascular Aneurysm Repair (EVAR) is a minimally invasive procedure used to treat aneurysms, which are weakened and enlarged areas in blood vessels, typically in the abdominal area. During EVAR, a doctor threads a thin tube called a catheter through the blood vessels to the site of the aneurysm. A stent graft, a small fabric tube supported by metal mesh, is then placed inside the aneurysm. This helps reinforce the blood vessel walls and prevents the aneurysm from rupturing. EVAR usually leads to shorter recovery times and less pain compared to traditional surgery.
